Real estate brokers and homeowners alike should consider the value of getting certified by the Greenpoint rating program, administered by Build It Green, a non-profit organization dedicated to the real practice of making high performance homes and investing in best practices in residential construction.
Properties, like products that we consume, need to be visible and distinguished, if they are to appeal to the future potential buying market. Green homes, I believe, are visible and distinguished, and will continue to lead the way. This valuable consumer label, is now available by investing in the hiring of a credible third party verification professional.
Green professionals, as independent third party participants in the design and construction phases of home improvements, help fulfill the necessary position lacking in most traditional negotiations. Greenpoint rating does create an alternative in the traditional marketplace and, I believe, will continue to lead the way for integrity in creating a highly visible consumer label.
